PANJIM: Sunny Club Mapusa defeated Goa Sports Academy by 5 wickets in the GCA A Division North, at GCA ground, Porvorim, on Wednesday.
Sunny Club won the toss and elected to field.
Goa SA scored 248 for 9 in the allotted 45 overs. Vinay Sawant was the top scorer of the innings with 84 runs of 91 balls while Prithviraj Shilimkar scored 53 runs off 57 balls.
Gauresh Gawas scalped 3 wickets for Sunny Club.
In reply, Sunny Club chased down the target in 36.3 overs thanks to an unbeaten knock by man-of- the-match Siddesh Amonkar who scored 112 runs. Babaji Gawas and Narayan Gawas picked up 2 wickets each.
In the scond match of the day, Noorani Sports and Cultural Club beat Arlem by 3 wickets.
Gaurav Golhar of Noorani was named man -of-the-match for economical bowling (16-3).
