PANJIM: Synnovia D’ Souza, Jiya Kamat, Riya Haldankar and Siya Dhavaskar moved into the girls U-15 singles quarter-finals, at the late Francis D’ Souza Memorial All Goa Sub- Junior (U13 / 15) Major Ranking Badminton Tournament, organised by Mapusa Shuttlers in collaboration with Goa Badminton Association, at Peddem Sports Complex, Synovia defeated Lakshita Sawal in straight sets, winning 21-8, 21-10.
Jiya kamat too had it easy against Disha Dutta winning 21-10, 21-12.
In the other pre quarter-finals, Siya Dhavaskar upset number four ranked Sriya Saraf 21-14, 21-17 while Riya Haldankar prevailed over Soumya Lotlikar with a 21-17, 21-19 score line. Sakshi K downed Pratistha Shenoy 21-9, 21-10 to join them into the quarters. In Under 15 boys singles, Pranav Naik, Sarvadnya Khandeparkar , Chirag Mahale, Vedant Chauhan, Shivam Saini, Atharv Pednekar and Rudra Phadte moved into the quarter-finals along with top seed Harsh Mane.
