In quarter-finals, Tanisi Kirtani outplayed Anushka Hammnavar 11-1, 11-4, 11-1. Sneha Rane outsmarted Sanisha Shetye 7-11, 11- 9, 11-9, 5-11, 11-2. Tania Patil defeated Aditi Chodankar 11-6, 11-8, 11-3 and Prutha Parrikar defeated Arya Divekar 12-10, 11- 9, 11-8.
Day three of the championship will see Sub Juniors Boys in action, between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m.
The tournament includes 10 categories: U-12 (cadet girls and boys), U-16 (sub junior girls and boys), U-19 (junior girls and boys), men’s singles, ladies singles, veteran singles and doubles (above 40 years). Prizes collectively amounting to Rs 51,000 will be awarded to the winners in the various categories.
