COLLEM: Tanveer Sheikh, Tejan Khutkar, Ashwini Sonar and Tanay Velip emerged fastest in their respective categories, in the Dharbandora taluka mini secondary school athletics meet, at Mollem village panchayat ground, in November 2014.
Tanveer Shaikh of Our Lady of Piety HS, Collem topped the under-17 boy’s event while Tejan Khutkar of Abhinav Vidyamandir HS, Mollem bagged the first position in the under-14 boy’s category.
In the under-17 girl’s event, Ashwini Sonar of Gomantak Vidyalaya, Pilium-Dharbandora finished first while Tanaya Velip of Somanath English HS, Savargal-Dabal topped the under-14 girl’s event.
In the 5km walk, Jose D’Souza of Abhinav Vidyamandir, Mollem stood in first and in the 3km walk, Sneha Gaonkar of Immaculate High School, Dabal stood in first.
In the 3km run, Shashank Desai of Government High School, Shirgao and Megashri Gaonkar of Immaculate High School, Dabal stood in first respectively in the under-17 boy’s and girl’s categories.
In hammer throw, Hemant Hullekeri of Abhinav Vidyamandir High School, Mollem stood in first place.
In high jump, Ashwin Gaonkar of Immaculate HS, Dabal; Mayuresh Gaonkar of Abhinav Vidyamandir High School, Mollem; Namita Naik of Abhnav Vidyamandir, Mollem and Bhagyashri Shelke of Abhinnav High School, Mollem stood first in their respective.
In the long jump event, Bomiyo Gaonkar of Immaculate HS, Dabal; Stephen D’Silva of OL of Piety HS, Collem; Ranjita Malekar of Abhnav HS, Mollem and Ramita Gawade of Government HS, Dayanandnagar, Dharbandoda stood first in different categories.
Suresh Babu, PK Naik, Rupesh Prabhu, Suresh Dessai, Somanath Samant, Shounak Verekar, Akshay Madkaikar, Premand Talpi, Vishwas Naik and Wilson Mahade, all physical education teachers of secondary schools of Dharbandoda conducted the events under the supervision of Taluka Sports Organizer Tulsidas Dessai.
