PORVORIM: Tata Sports beat RBI by 7 wickets in the Goa Corporate League organised by Goa Cricket Association, at GCA ground, Porvorim, on Wednesday.
Tata Sports won the toss and elected to field. RBI scored 144 runs for 7 in the alotted 20 overs.
After losing wickets at regular intervals, RBI had to thank Jyot Chaya for his 82 runs off 64 balls followed by Sumit Kumar (21) and Sumit Ghadigaonkar(16).
The Tata Sports bowlers put in a decent effort as Rohit Yadav picked up 2 wickets while Sidharth Raut, Ankur Singh, Chirag Khurana grabbed a wicket each.
In reply, Tata Sports chased down the target with 2 overs to spare. Sufiyan Shaikh was the top scorer of the innings with 72 runs off 39 balls followed by skipper Nikhil Patil who was scored an unbeaten 33 runs off 29 balls.
The RBI bowlers couldn’t do much to contain their opponents as they picked up just 3 wickets. Rajesh Bishnoi grabbed 2 wickets while Ali Murtaza picked another. Sufiyan Sheikh was named man-of-the-match.
In the second match, Viajaya Bank defeated Air India by 12 runs.
Shishir Bhawane was named man-of-the-match for his unbeaten knock of 69 runs.
