HERALD: Is the team facing any problems in acclimatising with the weather conditions?
DENIS LAMBY: Yes. Because of the humidity here, the players have to drink lot of water during the training session. They are given breaks every15 minutes to hydrate themselves. In Germany, the climate is very much cooler.
H: How is your training programme going on so far?
DL: On the first day, the team underwent yoga, brief walk and jogging sessions on the beach, while on Wednesday, the players were briefed on how to build up play against the opponents. It is not just football that we look after, we have to also see their complete personality and terminology as they are still in their teens. We have to also focus on their future tactics and techniques too.
Q: Are the players having any injuries?
DL: No. All 21 are fit and are in good shape. As there are no bookings faced by the players in their earlier matches, we are confident that the team will put up a good show at the World Cup.
Q: How are the conditions of training grounds in Goa?
DL: The facilities are good and the grounds (Nagoa, Bambolim and Utorda) are in good conditions for training. Our next training session will be held at Nehru Stadium, Fatorda, on Thursday.
