Team Pacers Racing living the dream

PANJIM: It all began in June 2013 when Team Pacers Racing (TPR) decided to participate in National Go-Kart championship.

The Indian Society of new Era Engineers (ISNEE) conducts a competition for colleges in which they have to design, build, and race a go kart. The event requires them to understand and undertake the same steps that are required throughout the industry in the design, analysis and manufacture of any machine and TPR stood 13th at the National level.
Vowing to redeem itself TPR, under the leadership of Akshay Badami went back to the drawing board to start from scratch with only one goal in mind- the championship trophy 2014.
Nothing could steer them away from this goal. They stood 17th in the pre-final round held in Indore in July. Technical in-charge, Leroy D’Souza took care of the modelling and the electrical systems on the kart. Other prominent members were Tyron Noronha, Anant Shirokar, Sammit Wagle, Pritish Nevgi, Vijay Panikar, Pierre Siddarth de Souza, Bipin Naik, Rylan Peroz, Geetharth Velip, Dheep Caldeira, Ketan Shirwaiker, Ankeet Dhuri, Angad Prabhu and Saideep Sopte.
The competition covered all aspects of building a go-kart from analysis and endurance testing to its marketing and business presentation, with points in all individual events adding to a total for the championship.
The final event was held at Kari Motorway, Coimbatore where they won not only the championship trophy, but also the ‘Autocross’, ‘Skid-pad’, and ‘Best Innovation’ prizes.
