PANJIM: Young and talented Tejas Shevde will take on the challenge of Gustavo Perziano in the final of the Men’s singles while Simran Khan will face Charmaine Godinho in the Women’s single final of the Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias Open 2016, at Mira Mar, on Sunday.
The event will get underway at 4 p.m. at Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias.
With fire in their belly, Tejas and Gustavo won in straight sets respectively in the semi-finals. Tejas won 6-2, 6-0 against Bulu to book his place while Gustavo won 6-0, 6-0 against Standal in a surprisingly one sided match.
In the Men’s doubles, the pairing of Tejas and Bulu had an easy outing as they outsmarted Sachin and Raju 9-5 while Santosh and Gustavo defeated Kevin and Noah by a 9-1 margin to set up a final showdown against tournament favorites Tejas and Bulu.
The final of the U-16 Boy’s category saw Vardhan Karkal triumphant over Jaybhaye Ramkishan, winning (6-1), (6-0) to claim the trophy.
The U-12 category of Boys put up a splendid performance for the fans that gathered as Arnav Oruganty won the final by defeating Felix Craven 4-0, 4-0.
