Ten teams to participate in West Zone ball badminton

MAPUSA: The Goa Ball Badminton Association will hold the West Zone Ball Badminton Championship 2018 for men and women at the DSYA ground, opposite Holy Cross High School, Bastora from October 20 to 23 from 8.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. on a league basis daily. 
Goa will see the participation of both, men and women’s team.
The organizers are affiliated to Ball Badminton Federation of India (BBFI). Ten teams from Maharashtra, Mumbai, Gujarat, Rajasthan besides host Goa will be participating in the championship. 
Free lodging, boarding and local transportation will be provided to all the teams. The teams are being accommodated at Divine Home Apartments, Punola.
Speaking to reporters, the Chairman of the organising committee, Dharma Chodankar informed that the championship will be inaugurated at the hands of Aldona MLA, Glenn Ticlo in the presence of Executive Director of SAG, VM Prabhu Desai; the Sarpanch of Bastora, Savio Martin on October 20 at 4 p.m.
Sports Minister, Manohar Azgaonkar will be the chief guest whereas renowned businessman and social worker Dr. Gurudas Natekar will be the guest of honour.
 While the special invitees for the valedictory function will be the Sarpanch of Ucasaim -Paliem-Punola, George Souza; Headmistress of Holy Cross High School, Sr. Bromedine Pal and Project Officer SAG, Monica Lobo.
 This is the third time that Goa Ball Badminton Association is organizing this championship in Goa. 
Earlier it was organised at DIET ground, Porvorim and at Don Bosco High School ground, Panjim.
