MAPUSA: After two successive goalless draws, Salgaocar FC will look to break the spell when they take on Sporting Clube de Goa in a round five clash of the Goa Professional League, at Duler Stadium, Mapusa. The kick-off is at 4 p.m.
Salgaocar have accumulated five points thus far from three outings whilst Sporting Clube have four points having played an extra game.
Coach Malcolm Thomson however remained upbeat ahead of the clash. “Our youngsters are shaping up well and with the senior players being away, they have a great platform in the Goa Professional league to showcase their ability and seal a place in the first team for the rest of the season. I’m looking forward to the game tomorrow”, remarked the gaffer. “Barring one, I have the entire squad available for selection. The boys have been working really hard in training and it pleases me to see their appetite and hunger increase with every passing day”, he added.
Salgaocar FC played their last game on the 22nd of September and the two weeks have allowed the players to recuperate from the niggles and injuries.
