‘This is a difficult psychological moment for team’

PANJIM: After FC Goa suffered three successive losses in the ISL this season, head coach Juan Ferrando feels it is impossible to be happy after the defeat at the hands of NorthEast United FC at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Saturday.

The Gaurs had almost ensured a point after the match leaned towards a draw in the end, but to their misfortune, Khassa Camara pulled the rabbit from the hat in stoppage time to snatch all three points on offer.

In the backdrop of the defeat, Ferrando believes it is a tough blow to the team’s mentality as the confusion persists to find ways of winning.

“We are thinking about chances at the end. This is football and the most important thing is to win. I am not thinking about the chances, I am not thinking about the luck or that the team will lose at the last minute. This is a difficult psychological moment for the team,” stated Juan Ferrando.

“I don’t prefer thinking about luck. I think the truth at the end is that we lost when the team wasn’t thinking of winning the game because all the substitutions never lost the time thinking to win, but in the end this is the truth. Not thinking about being unlucky,” he stated.

Juan wasn’t happy with the team’s defensive performance at all and stated, “Of Course not. It is impossible to be happy today,”

When asked what the team can do to get back to winning ways, Juan stated, “Now it is difficult. You understand that it confuses the players, it confuses me and confusion for the coaching staff. It is a difficult moment and I think of ways and we’ll see tomorrow.
