CHANDOR: Tilamola and Guirdolim emerged victorious of the Quepem Deanery Altar Servers boys and girls football tournament respectively, played at Pallotti Jyothi Niwas Novitiate ground, Guirdolim, Chandor, on Friday.
In the boys final, Tilamola defeated Guirdolim 1-0. Reezvon Fernandes was the lone goal scorer for only one goal was score for the winners. Meanwhile, Guirdolim team defeated Macazana in the tie-breaker, after both teams failed to break the deadlock in the regulation time.
Altogether 7 Parish altar servers’ teams participated in the one-day tournament.
Pallotti Jyothi Niwas Rector Fr Valentine Alphonse was the chief guest for the final and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up. The Pallotti Fathers and Novices along with the Deanery Altar Servers’ Animators Br James Marcus and Fr Savio D’Silva organised the event. The officials for the tournament were Rachol Seminarians.
