MARGAO: A fine brace by striker Trevor Antao enabled Candolim Veterans blank Bardez Veterans 2-0 to storm into the final of All Goa Navelim Veterans football tournament organized by Navelim Veterans, at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Tuesday. Candolim led 1-0 at half time.
They enjoyed the upper hand in both the sessions and started in an aggressive mode right from the word go.
Trevor Antao, former Sesa Goa striker put Candolim in front with snap shot. Spurred by the success, Candolim piled on the pressure and unleashed couple of pot shots which went over the cross bar.
Bardez Veterans took time to settle down and once they struck the rhythm they called the shots against the rival citadel.
The second session continued in same vein with Candolim troubling the rival defence with swift counter moves and midway in the second half Trevor Antao scored second time to complete his brace.
With time running out, Bardez went all out but failed to get past the rival alert defence.
