TriGoa announces start of 2020-21 BRM season

PANJIM: The TriGoa Foundation launched the new, 2020-21 Brevets Randonneur Mondiaux (BRM) season by organising 200km and a 100km endurance cycle rides on Sunday, November 22. 

In a media release issued, Rajesh Malhotra, founder of TriGoa Foundation said that the 200km cycle ride was called the ‘TriGoa Coastline BRM’ and would start in Panjim at 6 a.m. “The cyclists will cycle alongside South Goa’s magnificent coastline of Colva, Benaulim, Agonda, Palolem and Pollem. We have organised breakfast and lunch enroute for all the cyclists,” Malhotra said. The 200km cyclists will get a total of 13 hours and 30 minutes to complete the ride and all finishers will get a special medal from France. 

According to Malhotra, TriGoa is an affiliate of Audax India Randonneurs (AIR) and organises long distance endurance rides (BRMs) on behalf of Audax Club Parisien (ACP), France. “Achieving a Randonneur and Super Randonneur status is a lifelong title and recognized across the world. India has over 15,000 Randonneurs,” Malhotra said.

On the same day, TriGoa will also be organising the ‘Brevet Populaire’ 100km cycle ride. “This ride is being organised to give new riders an opportunity to experience the self-sufficient,BRM format. All finishers will be eligible for a medal and certificate from the Audax India Randonneurs (AIR),” Malhotra said. The 100km cyclists will start at 0615 hrs from Panjim and ride along the Bambolim-Cortalim-Dabolim-Majorda-Betalbatim-Margao-Borim-Loutolim-Old Goa-Panjim route. The 100km cyclists will get 7 hours and  30 minutes to complete the ride.
