PANJIM: Anshuman Agarwal grabbed a triple crown while Khushal Naik and Trisha Verlekar won double crowns each, at the State Ranking Table Tennis tournament organised by Goa Table Tennis Association in collaboration with the Sports authority of Goa (SAG).
On an exciting day of matches played at multipurpose stadium, Peddem, Anshuman upset top seed Dheeraj Rai to clinch the men’s singles title. Khushal Naik who had reached three finals won the U13 and U15 boys singles titles while Trisha Verlekar clinched the U13 and U15 girls titles. Prutha Parrikar was crowned women’s singles champion while Dhruva Kamat upset Chandan Caro to clinch the U11 boys title. In the girls U11 category, Ishita Colaso emerged winner. Galya Fernandes (U17 girls) and Aditi Chodankar (U19 girls) emerged winners in the junior girls section.
Aldona MLA Glen Ticlo and Goa TT Association officials Vero Nunes (President), Christopher Menezes (Secretary), Subhash Pandit (Treasurer), Vishnu Kolwalkar and Sudin Verenkar (Vice Presidents), Kabir Makhija, Nilesh Kirtani and Amey Lawande (Executive Members) graced the prize distribution.
