Triple crowns for Harsh, Sakshi; Yash wins double

MAPUSA: Harsh Mane who is India’s number 13 and emerging talent Sakshi Prakash hogged the limelight, winning triple crowns each at the Late Francis D’ Souza Memorial All Goa Sub- Junior (U13 / 15) Major Ranking Badminton Tournament organised by Mapusa Shuttlers in collaboration with Goa Badminton Association, at Peddem Sports complex, recently.
 Harsh won the U-13 and U-15 boys singles titles along with the U-13 boys doubles, which he won partnering another upcoming youngster and India number 21 Yash Desai.
 In the U-13 boys singles, Harsh downed his Margao compatriot Yash Desai with a 21-16, 21-12 score line. For Yash, it was a double crown haul. 
In the U-15 singles, Chirag Mahale who had done well to reach the finals found the going tough against top seed Harsh, losing 21-8 21-18 though he did put up a good fight in the second set. 
Later, Harsh and Yash teamed up to capture the U-13 boys doubles title with an exciting 20-22, 21-14, 21-19 win over Sarvadnya Khandeparkar and Vedant Chauhan. 
The U-15 boys doubles title went the way of Yash Desai / Shivam Saini who were all business in their 21-8, 21-11 win over Chirag Mahale / Rudra Phadte.
 Sakshi Prakash was in similar good nick in the U-13 girls singles and doubles categories. 
In the U-13 singles, the top seed staved off the spirited challenge posed by Jiya Kamat, winning 17-21, 21-11, 21-7. Sakshi along with her partner Disha Dutta later upset top seeds Jiya Kamat and Sriya Saraf in U-13 girls doubles to emerge victorious. They won 21-14 23-21. Top seed Tanushri Shadani asserted her supremacy in U-15 girls singles with an emphatic 21-13, 21-9 win over  Sakshi Prakash. 
In the U-15 girls doubles, Siya Kolwalkar along with Sakshi Prakash edged out Tanushri Shadani / Pratistha Shenoy 21-14, 16-21, 21-18 to secure the title. 
The U-10 boys singles was won by Rishi Pai Khot who registered a 21-17, 21-14 win over Sparsh Kolwalkar while Yashila Chilluri ousted Shivani Rai 21-14, 21-16 to claim the U-10 girls title.
