FATORDA: UAE coach Abdelmajeed Ibrahim Mohamed was jubilant about the team comeback against the hosts and believes his timely substitution made a big impact for his team that saw Ahmad Fawzi score the match winner just after minutes on being introduced in the second session.
“The coach knows his players well and which time one needs to change. Introducing him (Fawzi) made the big difference as he scored the match winner. That’s the secret of the coaching,” said jubilant Ibrahim.
Ibrahim congratulated his team for their brilliant comeback and exceptional second half performance.
“We congratulate our team. We are not used to play in this weather condition. This affected our performance in the first half as India played well. But we adapted to the conditions in second half,” he added.
Ibrahim confessed that on seeing his team’s first half performance he told his players that it wasn’t the way they played and motivated the players to give their best during the half time break.
The UAE coach further feels that this tournament is good for India to prepare themselves for the upcoming U-17 WC.
“I think its really good preparations for India as they are not under-pressure to qualify for WC,” he added.
When asked about their clash against Iran, Ibrahim said that they will take each game at a time.
