MARGAO: United Boys of Ambaulim defeated Curotorim Gymkhana in the Goa Football Association U-16 League match, played at Dramapur ground, on Tuesday.
Sydney Fernandes shone for United Boys of Ambaulim as he netted a fine hat-trick in his side’s 5-2 win.
Sydney opened the scoring in the 6th minute and Stephen Fernandes doubled the tally in the 12th minute. Curtorim Gymkhana enjoyed a brief spell of dominance and scored one at the half hour mark through Maruti Bhorat.
Vealtone Fernandes made it 3-1 just before the breather in favour of Ambaulim side.
Crossing over, Sydney Fernandes added two more goals to complete his hat-trick and make it 5-1. Sevin Luis pulled another goal back for Curtorim Gymkhana in the 79th minute.
In another match at Artificial turf ground, Fatorda, Raia Football Club registered a thumping 12-0 win over United Club of Orlim in the one-sided affair.
Deep Paswan scored double hat-trick (seven goals) while Naveen Gautam added two. Derry Cardoso, Nipon Tete and Summet Bhosle scored for the Raia team. The winners led 7-0 at the break.
