PANJIM: United Boys of Ambaulim scored a thrilling 4-2 win over Colmorod Ratvaddo Sports Club in the Goa Football Association U-16 League match played at Quepem ground, on Tuesday.
Ambulim started the match on an attacking note and didn’t take long to score as Teron Fernandes ran down the left flank and dribbled past couple of rival defenders before shooting into the empty nets to give his side the lead.
Ambaulim looked dangerous in the opening quarter but the Colmorod Ratvaddo defence stood tall and managed to stop opposition’s runs.
However, despite stopping them for major part of the first half, Colmorod conceded the second just before the breather through Royal Oliveira.
Coming after the break, Ambaulim were a much stronger side and they scored their third through Alfiano Fernandes.
It looked all over for Colmorod, but two quick goals from Moises Andrade and Velon Rebello gave new life in the camp as they turned the deficit to one goal.
However, their joy was short-lived as Alfiano scored his second of the evening to restore the two-goal cushion. Ambaulim won the match 4-2.
At Cavelossim ground, Ave Maria Athletic Club and Youth Welfare SC played out an enthralling 2-2 draw
Despite playing end to end football, it was Ave Maria which took the lead in the 36th minute through D’Costa. Diniz levelled terms for Youth Welfare SC just before the breather.
Post resumption, both the sides looked to find the nets but Ave Maria once again took the lead in the 50th minute through D’Costa, who completed his brace with a sublime finish. Meanwhile, Diniz had the answer to Ave Maria’s lead as the striker got Youth Welfare side back on level terms completing his double.
Meanwhile, Sirlim SC thrashed Curtorim Gymkhana 9-1, at Cuncolim ground.
