MARGAO: United Boys Dando-Colva prevailed over Navelim Villagers Union 4-1 via the tie-breaker to storm into the finals of All-Goa Cana Benaulim Panchayat Cup inter-village football tournament organized by St Sebastian Union Club, Benaulim at St John Baptist ground, Benaulim, Monday. There was no score at full time.
United Boys created many openings and nearly found success but striker Jovisco Fernandes’ rasping shot kissed the crossbar.
Navelim took time to settle down but once they found the rhythm they called the shots.
Alvito Colaco nearly found the match-winner but he shot wide from hand-shaking distance.
In the penalty shoot out, United Boys scored through Cliff Fernandes, Romario Fernandes, Menino Hilario and Nelson Gomes while only Alvito Colaco converted for Navelim Villagers.
United Boys will meet Margao Sports Club in the finals on June 9.
