RAIA: UC Benaulim secured a spot in the finals of the Benaulim village inter-ward tournament by defeating Pedda Boys, 1-0, organised by VP Cana-Benaulim, at SAG ground, Vadie-Benaulim.
The match began at a fast pace with Pedda Boys dominating the first half. Pedda’s Yasin and Quinton constantly pressured UC Benaulim, and in the 15th minute, Josbern’s powerful shot was expertly tipped for a corner by UC keeper Roosevelt. Just before halftime, UC Benaulim’s Osbourne took a free kick that deflected into Pedda’s net, giving UC Benaulim a 1-0 lead at the break.
In the second half, Pedda Boys maintained their aggressive play, but UC Benaulim’s defense, led by captain Osbourne, Sanvio, and Clifford, held firm. Keeper Roosevelt made several crucial saves, earning him the man-of-the-match award and ensuring UC Benaulim’s victory.
