MARGAO: In a thrilling encounter United Club of Mapusa defeated Porvorim Cricket Academy by one wicket to emerge champions in Goa Cricket Association’s (GCA) ‘C’ Division Cricket League at Panjim Gymkhana, Panjim.
Batting first, Porvorim Cricket Academy scored 152 runs with Govind Prasad top scoring 56. For UC Mapusa, Harshananad Gaonkar and Girish Pwaskar clinched two wickets each.
In reply, United Club of Mapusa chased the target in 36.2 overs with a wicket in hand. Harshanand (27), Sachin Gawas (22) and Nitin Lingudkar (22) were the contributors. For Porvorim CA, Ashraf Mujawar claimed three wickets.
