CALANGUTE: United Club Nerul breezed past Football Club of Siolim 5-3 via the tie-breaker to move into the semi-finals of 10th Anjuna-Caisua Village Panchayat Cup All-Goa inter-village football tournament organized by Chapora Yuvak Sangh at Chapora ground, Saturday.
The teams were locked 1-1 at full time.
Both the teams started off with lot of vigour displaying good footballing skills.
As the match progress, the teams went on an attcaking pace note in search of lead but in vain.
Post resumption, Gopal Shirodker put Siolim ahead scoring in the 39th minute off a Dylan Fernandes assist but Nerul fought back and leveled terms through Felix Benith off an assist by Russel Fernandes. Nerul beat Siolim on penalties by 4-2.
Manuel Crasto, Felix Benith, Rajat Chopdekar and Russel Fernandes scored for Nerul while Nikhil Simepuruskar and Dylan Fernandes converted for Siolim.
