NAVELIM: United Club of Telaulim defeated Vagator Parish Youth SC 5-1 in the GFA First Division League match played at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Sunday.
Jaison Dias scored hat-trick for the winners. Telaulim started the match on front foot and tested the rival keeper in the fourth minute when Clinton Niasso shot at the goal.
Telaulim opened the account in the seventh minute when Jaison Dias set-up Anil Shivolkar in the box and the latter’s low grounder sailed to the back of the nets, 1-0.
Jaison Dias doubled the lead in the 21st minute.
In the 28th minute, Vagator’s Silvester Dias solo effort was foiled by Telaulim’s Andrew Colaco.
Pavan Dhargalkar of Vagator curler hit the cross piece of Telaulim and went out of play in the 36th minute. Vagator missed yet another chance in the 40th minute when Vijay Morajkar’s long range effort sailed over the bar.
At the other end, Jaison completed his brace to give his side a three goal cushion at the break.
Changing ends, Jaison netted his hat-trick with a sublime finish in the 55th minute. Vagator’s U-20 player Izahar Khan pulled a goal back from the penalty spot. Myron Pereira of Telaulim brought down Pavan Dhargalkar inside the Telaulim danger zone in the 60th minute.
Telaulim’s Clinton scored team’s fifth in the second half added time to make it 5-1.
