MAPUSA: Ucassaim Sports Club romp past Laxmi Prasad Sports Club with a 7-0 win in the GFA Third Division League, at Moira ground, on Wednesday.
Ucassaim’s Salu Santos scored a brace while Jeniton D’silva, Cyprian Rodrigues, Swapnil Haldankar, Vishwanath Kavlekar and Orton Pinto netted one each in their triumph.
In the first half, Laxmi Prasad displayed control in the midfield creating chances. However, it was Ucassaim that broke the deadlock in the 35th minute as Salu Santos fired a half volley from the edge of the box into the net.
Moments later, Ucassiam’s Jeniton D’silva smashed one in from a Sanchet Gawade pass giving his side a two-goal lead before the break.
The second half saw Ucassaim on complete ramapage. In the 50th minute, Salu Santos secured his brace as his long range shot made its way into the back of the net as Laxmi Prasad’s custodian misjudged the ball and failed to clear.
Ucassaim’s Cyprian Rodrigues added another in the 67th minute as he tapped one in. Ucassaim continued to mount pressure in the opponent half. In the 82nd minute Swapnil Haldankar slotted one in from a Vishwanath Kavlekar pass. Minutes later, Vishwanath Kavlekar found himself on the score sheet as he fired one from the edge of the box from a Cyprian Rodrigues pass.
In the final minutes, Ucassaim’s Orton Pinto added the final nail in the coffin as his long range effort ended in the top right corner to seal them a 7-0 win.
