Umtavaddo B defeated Porbavaddo 5-4 via the tie-breaker after the teams were involved in a 1-1 draw to move into the semi-finals of Calangute Panchayat Cup inter-ward football tournament organised by Calangute Association at Poriat ground, Calangute on Tuesday.
The match began on a positive note with Umtavaddo taking an early lead through Manoj. Porbavaddo fought back and leveled the score with a few minutes remaining for the final whistle.
Umtavaddo kept their nerves to prevail over Porbavaddo 4-3. Valentino, Swapnil, Peter and Dason scored for Umtavaddo B while Sachin, Jaideep and Ashwin were on target for Porbavaddo.
