RAIA: United Boys of Ambaulim clinched the Curtorim Villagers Cup 2025 inter-village football tournament defeating Parish Youth Nuvem 4-2 in the final played at the St Alex Church ground, Curtorim, recently.
In an exciting final, UB Ambaulim scored the first goal through Alex Fernandes in the 6th minute. UB Ambaulim scored the second goal with the efforts of Alfiano Fernandes in the 17th minute. UB Ambaulim netted the third goal through the boots of Sowell Fernandes in the 29th minute to make it 3-0 in first half.
In second half PY Nuvem pulled two goals back through Leroy Colaco and Shenoy Colaco in 53 and 60 min to make it 2-3. UB Ambaulim scored fourth goal through Joel Barreto in the 62nd minute to make it 4-2.
Chief guest Curtorim MLA and Goa Industrial Development Corporation Chairman Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco gave away the prizes in the presence of Jacob Ataide, Armando Colaco, Joaguim Estibeiro, Fr Manuel Dias, Michelle Rebelo, Moreno Rebelo, Anthony Pango, Bruno Lourenco, and club president Arnaldo Costa and other dignitaries.
On the occasion, Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco was felicitated by Curtorim Gymkhana for his continuous help and contribution towards Curtorim Gymkhana.
In the tournament organised by Curtorim Gymkhana, Dronacharya Awardee Armando Colaco was felicitated and two players Myrick Hilario and Mevan Dias for representing the 38th National Games were also felicitated.
