MAPUSA: Assonora United FC ease past PVC Association 2-0 to book their place in the quarter-finals of Saligao Super Soccer 2025 organised by Saligao United, at Vagator ground, on Thursday.
Assonora United scored their first early on in the match as Jovian Conceicao dribbled his way through from the half way line to neatly beat the opposition keeper and place it in. Ten minutes later, Assonora Utd FC doubled their lead when a cross from Jovian Conceicao from the left flank to find Prajot Arabekar whose shot found the back of the net.
In the 26th minute, Jovian threaded a pass to Rakesh Samant whose shot sailed over the crossbar.
On crossing ends, PVC Association in search of something to get back into the game, but no clear cut chances being created in the early stages of the second half.
In the 52nd minute, Joston Cardoz of PVC Association took a shot from outside the box which was put away by Harsh Bhagat, Assonora Utd FC goalkeeper. Assonora Utd’s FC defence stood tall as they didn’t allow any opportunities to the opposition to get back into the game.
