KAKODA: United Sports Club of Palolem got the better of Mandopa Sports Club 7-6 via the tie-breaker to move into the final of the 20th Holy Cross Cup, at Voilem Moll, Kakoda ground, on Tuesday. There was no score in the first session of play.
Post resumption, the teams started attackingly and it was Mario Mascarenhas, who drew the first blood for Mandopa SC in the 51st minute with a deft placemtn but Yamunsab Pinjar equalized for United SC, five minutes later.
In the resultant tie-breaker, United SC scored through Yamunsab Pinjar, Caitan Fernandes, Silachi Cardoza, Priscon Falcao, Sion Lobo and Cleny Fernandes while Mandopa SC scored through Aulon Gomes, Jaison Fernandes, Richard Costa, Nevin Pereira and Alister Gomes.
