FATORDA: The Goan skaters performed exceedingly well in the two major competitions that they participated recently at the 6th Rural Games National Championship 2016, Margao and 6th Late Shri Narayan Kasat Memorial Roller Skating Championship 2016 held in Belgaum.
In the first competition, the skaters trained by SAG under coach Rajesh Naik secured 35 medals comprising of 20 gold, 10 silver and 5 bronze medals, namely, Kuvira Assotikar, Cain Fernandes, Gaurang Raikar, Mia Rodrigues, Hiedi Rodrigues, Saisha Kambli, Cliff Fernandes, Hritika Hiremath all bagged two goal each; Shivam Raikar one gold; Omkar Naik and Anish Kambli one gold, one silver each; Rajat Irkal two silver; Selvin one silver, one bronze; Ranzia Peirera one gold, one silver; Jolina two bronze, Arya Naik one silver, one bronze; Kapish Khanolkar two silver and Savion Leitao one silver, one bronze.
In the second, the skaters secured 17 medals comprising of 6 gold, 5 silver and 6 bronze medals.
In addition to above medals, the skaters also achieved success in other events held in Goa. All the skaters are of Universal Roller Skating Club.
