PANJIM: Urvi Surlekar, Arya Palang, Saimira Kamat and Neeza Kamat entered the U-14 girl’s singles semi-finals, at the 4th late Purushottam V P Navelcar Memorial talent search table tennis tournament organised by Panaji Ganeshotsav Samiti in collaboration with Panjim Table Tennis Club, at Dr SPM Stadium, Taleigao.
In U-21 girls singles, Saimira Kamat, Stuti Shivani, Aaalya Arora and Urvi Surlekar have made it into the last four while in the U-14 boys singles, Saksham Dukle, Rishan Shaikh, Priyam Redkar and Saket Kapileshhwari have entered the semi finals.
Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by Sandeep Heble, former President, Panaji Ganeshotsav Samiti in the presence of Yusuf Shaikh (Sports promoter), Selvyn Godinho (Secretary, Panjim TT Club), Gaurang Bhangui (Chief Referee) and Shubham Lokre.
Madhu Sah, Rida Sheikh, Pradnya Prabhu, Riya Gopi, Atharv Sawant, Aman Chowhan, Atharv Dhulapkar, Akshar Jumde, Bhavith Marathe, Nilay Kunkolienkar, Rikhil Gopi and Hrishi Dayekar were awarded promising player prizes during the inaugural.
