MAPUSA: United Boys of Camotim registered a comfortable to 2-0 win over Vaddy Boys to move ahead in the Candolim inter-ward Football tournament organised by Arady Boys, played at Candolim ground, on Wednesday.
Camotim netted an early fifth minute goal as Sachu tapped the ball gently into the nets off a cross by Nikhil.
In the 38th minute, Camotim were awarded a penalty after the ball was handled by Vaddy defender Khatesh Candolkar. Pushpa Parab converted the spot-kick to make it 2-0
On crossing over, Camotim were awarded the second penalty when Pushpa Parab was brought down inside the penalty box.
This time Pushpa Parab’s penalty was saved by Vaddy keeper Khuldeep Yelve.
In the second match, Saipem SC had to wait for the penalty shoot-out to get the better of Confraria 4-3.
The play was mostly restricted to midfield where the winners was finally decided via tie-breaker where for Saipem Colts Gokuldas Bandodkar, Rohan Morajkar, Mahadev Bandodkar and Samford Barreto scored on target while Nilesh Jhonty, Anuj khuttikar and Pritesh Tulaskar scored for Confraria outfit.
