NAVELIM: Carmel SC came from behind to beat Navelim Sporting Club 2-1 in the Goa Football Association (GFA) Third Division League (Salcete Zone) match, played at Navelim ground, on Friday.
Second half strikers from Laxman Thappa and Dalwin Costa helped Carmel SC overcome an early scare from Navelim who scored early in the first half through skipper Clinton Dias.
In another match at Benaulim ground, United Boys of Dando, Colva defeated Carmona SC 2-1.
Clyde Dias scored a brace for the winners netting a goal in either half. The Colva team were first to score through Clyde Dias, however, Neil levelled terms just before the break. Crossing over, Clyde gave his side full three points netting his brace.
At Curtorim ground, Ugem SC and Maina SC played out a 2-2 draw.
Elsewhere at Raia ground, Samson Fernandes scored the only goal of the match to give Raitura SC solitary goal win over St Sebastian Y Club 1-0.
