PANJIM: V M Salgaocar College emerged as the winners of the 3rd edition of the V M Salgaocar T10 inter-collegiate cricket tournament organised by the V M Salgaocar College of Law, Miramar after a scintillating final match with DMC College, Mapusa,at SAG ground, Campal-Panjim, recently.
The winners took away a trophy along with cash prize of Rs. 11,000 while the runners-up were awarded a trophy along with a cash prize of Rs. 8,000.
The chief guest for the award ceremony was Sherif Dodamani, social worker while the guest of honour was Saprem Parsekar, social worker.
The occasion was also graced by Dr. M R K Prasad, Principal VMSCL, Dr. K. Srinivas Rao, Head of Department VMSCL, Dr. Sahadev Mandrekar, Director of Sports VMSCL and also Dr. Shushant Haldankar, Director of Sports DMC College.
The members of the organising committee, Salim Rehmanawar, Dattaraj Parab and Anukul Naik were also present.
Sanjay Parab from VMSCL was awarded the Man-of-the-Match. Dattaraj Parab from VMSCL was awarded the best bowler. Kishan Gawas from Govt. College Sanquelim was awarded the best batsman. Shubham Jha from DMC College was awarded the Man-of-the-Series.
Best fielder was awarded to Yatin Ghadi from Govt. College, Pernem. Dattaraj Gawas from VMSCL was awarde for the Best catch. Best wicket-keeper was awarded to Shailesh Bindh from PCCE, Verna. MES College, Vasco was declared as the best disciplined team
