CHICALIM: Vaddem Sports Club edged past Mangor Sports Club 4-3 in the Mormugao Zone GFA 3rd Division League at Chicalim panchayat ground, Chicalim.
Vaddem were leading 2-0 at half time.
The heavy downpour during the match added to the woes of the teams but it was Vaddem who shot into the lead in the 33rd minute through Francisco Tavares. Kingsley Oliveira added one more for Vaddem just before half-time.
In the second half, it was Mangor who played their hearts out with Baptist scoring a fine goal. The goal spurred Mangor to later equalise through Caetano to make it 2-2.
Vaddem moved further ahead through Kingsley who scored his brace in the 61st minute but Mangor narrowed the margin in the very next minute through self goal by Vaddem keeper.
Princly Oliveira put the issue beyond doubt with a superb solo goal in the 88th minute to seal victory for Vaddem.
Referee Shaikh Niazi flashed the yellow cards for Jose (Vaddem) and Baptist (Mangor) for unsporting behaviour.
The match between Cortalim Villagers and Salgaocar SC (Jrs) was abandoned in the second half due to bad weather conditions.

ties postponed
The Mormugao Zone GFA 3rd Division League matches have been postponed due to water logging on Chicalim panchayat ground and CAC Cansaulim ground with incessant rains.
The date of matches between Patrong SC and Cross Boys and Cortalim Sporting Club Mormugao USC will be announced later.
