Vagator PY clinch three points

Vagator’s in-form striker Anson D’Souza was raring to go as he put his team ahead within 30 seconds from the kick-off after receiving a long and accurate ball from Stapelton, 1-0.
They continued to dictate terms and goal scorer Anson turned provider for the teams second as he set up Nitesh Salgaonkar for a deft placement in the 10th minute.
Saligao Sporting were caught off-balance by the early g­oals but the lads kept composure and pulled a goal back in 17th minute. Striker Ajay Diwadkar drove inspiration for his side with a scorching grounder, giving no chance to rival keeper Soma Korgaonkar 2-1.
Saligao continued their fight and just before the break they managed to restore parity as Rahul Naik headed in off a Mario Crasto cross.
However, post resumption, Vagator pulled the strings in the midfield and a goalkeeping error by the Saligao custodian saw Manuel Fernandes’ floater dip into the goal.
Vagaotr’s lanky medio Stapleton put the issue beyond doubt at the hour mark as he gave finishing touches to a cross from Sanford, 4-2.
