Vagator PY win eight-goal thriller against Telaulim

MAPUSA: Vagator Parish Youth Sports Club huffed and puffed before scraping past United Club Telaulim by a 5-3 win, in the GFA’s First Division League played at Duler Stadium, here on Thursday.

MAPUSA: Vagator Parish Youth Sports Club huffed and puffed before scraping past United Club Telaulim by a 5-3 win, in the GFA’s First Division League played at Duler Stadium, here on Thursday.
Vagator broke the deadlock in the 10th minute  when Mohammed Khan positioned himself perfectly to direct the ball home.
Within a span of a few minutes, Telaulim managed to restore parity through Clinton Niasso whose powerful shot crashed into the Vagator goal. Rama Satelkar managed to put Vagator into the lead in the 19th minute.
Moments before the halftime whistle, Vagator were awarded a penalty kick after the referee found Telaulim defender guilty of a reckless tackle on Sylvester Dias. Shubham Shetgaonkar made no mistake to score from the penalty spot.
Changing ends Telaulim started positively and  managed to net in two goals in a span of two minutes through Savio Fernandes (62nd min) and Clinton (65th minute) to level terms. Shubham managed to give Vagator the lead in the 82nd minute, scoring from the penalty spot while four minutes later Sylvester Dias scored through a powerful header to finish off the match at 5-3.
