MAPUSA: Vagator PYSC registered a comfortable 5-2 win over PVC Parra in the eighth-round league match, at Duler stadium, here, on Sunday.
With Sunday’s win, Vagator PYSC move to 13 points while PVC Parra fighting for relegation remain on just 5 points.
Vagator started the proceedings brightly and took the lead in the fourth minute through Stephen who applied finishing touches to a free-kick delivered into the box by Bhavesh to give his side the lead.
Parra needing a win to avoid relegation were poor in the first half and need to thank their keeper Dietmar Fernandes for keeping the score down as he brought two brilliant saves to deny Bhavesh and Raj Jadhav from finding the net for Vagator.
Crossing ends, Vagator were unstoppable as they pumped in four more goals with Akash Pawar making it 2-0 in the 49th minute with a well-connected volley from a cross delivered by Raj Jadhav.
Within minutes it was 3-0 with Raj Jadhav punishing some inept defending by Vagator to slot the ball into the goal.
In a comfortable position, Vagator dropped their guard and let Parra to get back into the match who got two goals through Manuel Rodrigues whose long rangers had no answer to the keeper to make it 2-3.
Just when Parra looked threatening, Vagator assembled themselves and scored two more goals in the 76th and 94th minutes to seal the full three points.
Bhavesh moved down the left side and flashed a low cross which was well controlled and finished by substitute Ramanath to make it 4 -2.
Ramanath then turn the provider for the fifth goal for Vagator in the added time which was cleverly finished by Saiesh Govekar to make it 5-2.
