Vagator PYSC too good for FC Tuem

Goan Warriors edge past Dunes SC; Benny XI win over Bidesh XI

MAPUSA: Vagator PYSC proved to be too good as they registered a 4-1 win over FC Tuem in the GFA’s Second Division league, held at Parra ground, here, on Wednesday.

Vagator PYSC struck two goals in each session of play.

Arun Naik netted a brace scoring in the 17th and 72nd minute of play, while Reagan Costa and Alistar Monteiro pumped in two more goals for the winners.

FC Tuem colts did have their chances but striker Semson Fernandes couple of strikes were saved by Vagator’s custodian Mehboob Sayed while a close header by Safiq Ali came from the crossbar.

It was in the 68th minute Tuem managed to pull a goal where Wilson Fernandes stabbed the ball into the goal off a low cross by Semson Fernandes.

At Guirim ground: Goan Warriors managed to edge past Dunes SC by 3-2 margin.

It was Dunes unit that took the lead in the very 5th minute of play through the boots of Sanmesh Raul.

However in the 12th minute Charnel Fernandes equalised for Goan Warriors, 1-1. Once again before the breather Hrutik Harmalkar put Dunes ahead 2-1.

On crossing over Goan Warriors not only levelled terms through Harshad Madkaikar but saw Hrutik Paryekar net the winning goal for his team.

At Duler stadium: Ten men Benny XI registered a hard fought 3-2 win over Bidesh XI.
