PANJIM: Vailankanni Boys, Merces and Boom Boom Boys will clash in the final of the M7 Spartacus King of the Week Futsal Championship, organised by M7FC, following their respective wins in the semi-finals at Don Bosco Oratory Indoor Stadium, Panjim, on Saturday.
While the Merces team survived host M7FC scare, Boom Boom Boys edged out Goa United via tie-breaker.
In the first semi-finals, Boom Boom Boys put up a splendid performance as they came from two goal deficit and levelled terms 3-3 and went on to win the shootout.
Goa United took an early lead through Yannick in early moments of the match.
Milind doubled the lead within moments before Akon scored the third for Goa United. Boom Boom were totally lost in the contest and were all over the court.
It was Devendra who breathe life in Boom Boom campaign as he pulled one back just before the break. Changing over, Boom Boom were totally a transformed side as they totally outplayed their opponents with quick passing and speed which tormented the rival team time and again.
Dion scored the second for Boom Boom with a sublime finish and pumped up their team spirit.
Just when it looked like Goa United would win the match, Devendra equalised in the very end of the match to level terms.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Boom Boom Boys proved to be better shooters.
In the second semi-final, M7FC got off to flying start when they took an early lead from the spot kick through Beneston. But Vailankanni Boys came back strongly and levelled terms through Joel.
However, once on equal terms, there was no stopping for Vailankanni Boys as they scored their second through Domnic and went into the breather with a goal lead.
Crossings ends, the Merces side scored two quick goals through Alwin and Joel to take the tally to 4-1.
M7FC looked surprised, however, they tried to get back into the game and managed to score through Auzden. The goal gave hope to the host and quickly they pulled another back to make it 3-4.
However, the clock denied any further comeback to the team as the match ended 4-3 in favour of Vailankanni Boys.
