MARGAO: Varca Sports Club defeated United Club of Dando, Benaulim 2-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the 26th Super Soccer football tournament organised by United Boys of Dando, Colva, at St John the Baptist ground, on Saturday.
In the first half, the score was 1-1. Varca took the lead in the 15th minute through Jhonus D’Costa power-packed grounder which crushed into the rival net. Nash Pereira assisted.
United Club of Dando in the 22nd minute managed to score the equaliser through Jesus Cardozo with an assist from Joao Falcao.
Post resumption, Varca doubled the lead in the dying minutes.
