VARCA: Varca SC defeated Arlem youth Association 5-4 via the tie-breaker to lift the Varca Panchayat Cup, organised by Varca Sports Club on Sunday.
The long range of Elroy Rodrigues and Sanjiro Pango of Arlem missed chances to score in the sixth and 19th minutes respectively.
At the other end, Varca’s Aaron Rodrigues shot wide in the 29th minute.
In the tie-breaker, Varca SC netted through Mohammed Shaikh, Aaron Rodrigues, Salim Sadekar, Clovis Gonsalves and Joylon Cardozo Allwyn Dias, Joswel Cardozo, Sweden Barbosa and Eldon Colaco found the net Arlem Youth Association.
Fr Louis Alvares, parish priest of Our Lady of Gloria church ,Varca was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners up in the presence of Alvito Dcunha international footballer, Fr Stifan Rebello and other dignitaries.
