NAVELIM: Varca SC defeated Goa Velha 4-3 via the tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals of the Gold/Silver Trophy played at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Thursday.
Agnelo Silva of Goa Velha opened the account with a placement shot in the 35th minute. Ten minutes later, Francisco equalised for Varca with a snap shot. The teams were tied 1-1 at the break.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Varca SC netted through Joylan Cardozo, Francisco Fernandes and Dylan Lima while for Goa Velha Anthony Fernandes and Rajat Gauns were on target.
