The Port Towners bounced back with a bang as they scored three quick goals within next 30 minutes. First Sanwil D’Costa unleashed a powerful strike from the top of the box to make it all square.
Mathew managed to put his side ahead in the 27th minute as the Port forward easily cut past two defenders and shot past rival keeper from just inside the box to make it 2-1.
It looked like Mathew wanted to make up for his earlier mistake from the spot kick as he scored another for Vasco in within next five minutes as this time he snatched the ball from Goa defender and calmly sent the ball in the net making it 3-1 for the Port Towners.
Goa managed to reduce the lead in the dying minutes of the match from the penalty kick as Pandurang Gawas made no mistake from the spot. Pandurang scored yet another goal and saved the day for Goa XI in the added minutes as his strike from close hit the side post before finishing in the Vasco’s net make it all equal.
