DULER: Vasco Sports Club put up a stiff challenge to get the better of Corps of Signals by a 2-1 win in the GFA’s U-20 Taca Goa League, at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Tuesday.
At half time both the sides were tied 1-1 with Kingslee Fernandes scoring for the winners while Dilip Manger netted in the equaliser for Signals.
Kingslee Fernandes put the Portside ahead in the 10th minute of play when on getting hold of the ball from Nehal De Mello he unleashed a rasping long range effort which crashed into the Signals nets after grazing the hands of the keeper to make it 1-0.
Moments before the half-time whistle Signals managed to score the precious equaliser when Jeremia Lalrinsanga sent the ball towards unmarked Dilip who made no mistake to drill the ball home, 1-1.
In the second half Signals defender Vanel Travasso made a mess out of Princenton Rebello’s long floater where the ball rolled towards Kingslee who on making his way into the 18-yard box slammed the ball into the nets to make it 2-1.
