RAIA: Vasco Veterans got the better of Viva Goa North Veterans 4-2 via tie-breaker to move into quarter-finals of 20th Flame of Unity Sports Club Veteran football tournament played at Mabai ground, Per-Seraulim, on Monday.
Vasco Veterans opened the score line in the second half through Andrew Teodosio. Ramesh Palkar further inflated lead in the 35th and 40th minute respectively to complete the brace.
But the joy was short-lived as Viva Goa North equalised in the 55th and 60th minute by scoring a goal each through Alex Alvares and Claudio. At the end of regulation time, both teams were held to a 2-2 draw. In the resultant tie-breaker, Vasco Veterans proved to be the better shooters. Sanjay Da Costa of Seraulim was the chief guest for the match.
