FATORDA: Oilex Oliveira displayed a fine performance for his team Velsao Sports and Cultural Club as they went on to beat Goa Velha SC 3-0 in the Goa Football Association Geno First Division League in association with Jhoncy Restaurant, Benaulim, played at Artificial Turf Fatorda, on Thursday.
The Velsao Club struck early on in the 8th minute as Oilex Oliveira scored the first goal for his team as they lead 1-0 in the initial minutes itself.
The Goa Velha side lacking good finishing failed to capitalize on to the opportunities and went on to concede another goal in the 32nd minute. This time Oilex completed his brace as he landed his perfect shot into the nets as they went into the break with a comfortable 2-0 lead over the opposition.
On crossing over, nothing seemed to have been working for the Goa Velha team as they fumbled in the defense and were dropped low almost the entire session.
Oilex Oliveira went on to net in his third goal for the day as he completed his hat-trick with a neatly placed shot after easing past the Goa Velha defenders. He eventually was awarded the man-of-the-match award for his fine performance. This is Velsao SCC first win in the campaign as they took away all three important points while for the opponents it was a second defeat in a row as they lost previously to Cuncolim Union 1-0 on Sunday.
