PANJIM: Velsao Sports and Cultural Club shocked Salgaocar FC 1-0 in the Reliance Foundation football tournament at Guirim ground on Saturday.
Velsao scored what turned out to be the precious match-winner as early as the 5th minute through Mohammed Sohib Mansoori.
In another match at Sirsaim ground, Churchill Bros beat Sesa FA 2-1. Bradley Carvalho scored in the 26th minute while Chaitan Dabholkar equalised in the 52nd. Shrine Clemente netted the match-winner in the 60th. Sesa’s Macbon Fernandes was given the marching orders in the 93rd minute.
In the third match at Ella ground, Old Goa FC Goa were lucky to prevail over Dempo 1-0 with Vasim Inamdar scoring in the very 2nd minute.
