RAIA: Curtorim Gymkhana defeated Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda 2-1 to make their way into the semi-finals of the 46th Custodio Memorial football tournament, organised by Raia Sporting and played at Raia Panchayat ground, on Sunday.
Francis Andrade missed the best chance of the match for Don Bosco in the 17th minute as his shot hit the rival post and went out of play.
Curtorim Gymkhan netted the first goal of the match through Velson Fernandes but the joy was short lived as Roque Borges equalised for Don Bosco within ten minutes.
As the match progressed, DBO’S Francis took control of the ball and shot from the top of Curtorim box but the rival keeper saved it in the 56th minute.
Finally, the winning goal was scored by Velson Fernandes in the 58th minute.
Don Bosco tried to find the equalising goal but couldn’t get past Curtorim defence.
Curtorim Gymkhana will meet the winners of Parish Youth Nuvem and Verna SC in the semi-final on July 23.
