FATORDA: Verna Veterans defeated Fatorda Veterans 6-5 via the tie-breaker to move to the next round of the Goa Police Cup veterans football tournament, at Police headquarters, Panjim, on Monday.
Sandeep Shankar of Verna Veterans opened the in the ninth minute. As the match progressed, in the second half, Rafiq equalized for Fatorda Veterans.
In the tie-breaker, Verna Veterans proved to be better shooters.
Hillary Fernandes, President of Senior Citizens football club (North) was the chief guest who presented the man of the match award to Sandeep Shankar of Verna Veterans.
